the last hot springs scene is very fitting as acknowledgement that Touhou is still one of the highest Franchises when it comes to R34 content

But really, had to re-check the previous episode to make sure i didn't miss something, and turns out they indeed skipped the whole Tenshi arc.

Regardless, gotta love how Yukari's plan to keep balance between the OP man-slaughtering youkais and the even OPer human protagonists consisted into inviting yet another OP human AND her two moms into Gensokyou...

This is mostly stuff i heard years ago, so i might be wrong, but the gist of it is that some god(s) created Gensoukyo as a land disconnected from the real world, where youkais of all kinds could keep living even after being forgotten and do their own things... including harassing and killing humans.

In order to protect the humans stupid/unfortunate enough to end up living in Gensoukyo alongside the youkais, the same god(s) bestowed cheat-like powers to the Hakurei Shrine priests/priestesses and gave them the task to act as peacekeepers.

And that's pretty much it: "Touhou" simply follows the actions of the current Hakurei priestess Reimu as she keeps getting forced into doing her job instead of lazing around all day sipping tea and taking it easy.

(She then relieves that stress by beating the will to live out of the baddies... and everyone else who just happens to cross her path)

That's because it's originally a series of shmups with 20+ games under its belt and most of the characters are stage bosses (some became playable/supporting in later entries)
